“In Him we have REDEMPTION through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace”- Ephesians 1:7
It was important to us that the “R” be a cornerstone truth that the rest of our mission statement could rest on. It all starts with acknowledging that everything we do, say, experience, feel, etc. is only possible because of Christ’s sacrifice at the cross. His willingness to bleed for our family’s sins gives us the opportunity to love each other, grow in relationship with Him and experience the peace that comes with that relationship. There is not amount of good work/deeds that could give us relationship with God- it is only possible through His Son’s death.
We all are sinful people <Romans 3:23> who stray away from God on a daily basis, but Jesus’ sacrifice is the reason that we can turn away from our sin- since He has already died for it. He paid the price.
Our redemption is only possibly through Christ’s blood. In our own lives we have seen him take dark sins like pride, anger, drunkenness, addiction to pornography, bad relationships and turn them white as snow. This will be what guides every other principle of our family. Nothing is possible without first acknowledging that Christ died for our sins.
We love the last part of Ephesians 1:7: “in accordance with the riches of God’s grace”. God has been so good to us. He is filled with unending grace. We cannot wait to remind Taves as he grows up that God is FILLED with GRACE. He LOVES you, baby Taves. And he paid the ultimate price to have you. You have been bought with a price. It is our goal to never take that for granted, but when we do, to quickly be directed back toward the one who saved us.
Please continue praying that the Roberts could be a family living as if we have been saved, bought, claimed, REDEEMED by a God filled with Grace. We are eternally grateful to have community around us eager to help point us in the right direction.
