B- Be Transformed

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold the new has come!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

We are completely transformed when we accept Christ into our hearts. There is no “unforgivable sin” that can keep us away from Him. His blood has the power to take the most scarlet-red sins and turn them white as snow. Praise God!

We all have different pasts, but the Bible is clear in saying that no matter what our specific experiences we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God                 <ROMANS 3:23> and the wage for that sin is death <ROMANS 6:23>.

When you accept Christ into your heart, you are accepting the wage that He paid on your behalf. Our sins, big and small, held him on that cross. He would not climb down until it was FINISHED.

Because of this we are new creations. Completely different than before. Though we may look the same in outward appearance, nothing that we do or say should be the same. We pray that as we raise our kids we can explain to them our stories of how we once were lost, but Jesus brought us through and transformed our hearts for His purpose.

Baptism is one of our favorite days of the year at Watermark because of the JOY and FREEDOM that are all around throughout the service. We are no longer slaves to our fear/sin/anger/lust/self-righteousness/money/pride/anxiety/stress/job/etc. — that is something we should celebrate every day!

Please pray with us that we might be strangers and aliens in this world because of the transformation that took place in our hearts when we accepted Christ.

Another little love!

We could not be happier to announce that we are adding another little one to our family September 2017!

I hope you all know that Jase and I have hard time even sharing the news. We aren’t sure what to say or how to say it. We want other people to know how excited we are, but do not want to seem insensitive. We do not want to be emotionless because that sends a weird message too, oh we aren’t excited that God is performing one of the biggest miracles of life in my belly?

With the great great joy of new LIFE, also comes a very real & tangible pain thinking of all those who are longing to grow their families, who are confused and searching for answers, who know that God has a plan for their family but are becoming very weary of their journey.

I have said and will continue to say, our journey pales in comparison to so many others, so many others that we love deeply.

Ask us about our miscarriage to this day and we will cry about it.
Ask me about walking into the operating room for my d&c and I promise you I can vividly recall all of the details. All of them.
Ask me about all the lies that  Satan fed me during that season.
Ask me about crying randomly for weeks and months because the emotions were so raw.

Now this.
Ask us about how God continues to use our story for me to love, comfort, & confide in other hurting women.
Ask us about how God used our miscarriage to remind us, in a very bold way, that He is on the throne and has the days numbered for every  single person we love.
Ask us how God continues to use our miscarriage to make us release our grasp on Taves’s life a little more each day.
Ask us how God reveals himself to us each day through Taves – knowing that every sperm & egg create a new DNA. God knew that Taves’s DNA was perfect for us to parent here on Earth.

Our joy is deep & wide knowing that God has the perfect plan for our family. He knows the number of hairs on Taves’s head, he knows the number of days he will walk the Earth, and he knows the number of days that he will get to be a big brother. In that, we find unshakable peace.

Please join us in prayer as we prepare for this little miracle to join our family. We are so grateful to have you all on this journey with us and covet your prayers.

Our littlest love turned ONE! We’ve been through so much the past year but it has truly flown by. It is alarming to me that everyone says that the older the child gets, the faster the years go. I’m not sure if I can handle it!! This little guy has been a blesssing and huge gift to us since the moment we found out he was living, growing, and developing in my belly.

Jeremiah 1:5: “before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart”

Psalm 139:14: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know that full well”

We count it all joy and are so honored to celebrate his life. Jase & I desired for his birthday parties to be a celebration of everyone who has loved on, poured into, prayed for, and encouraged us the past two years. The journey of parenthood is full of ups & downs, ebbs & flows, but it is refining and beautiful. There’s no other face I’d rather kiss good night, squeeze good morning, and cheer on as his conquers new tasks.

Taves Patrick, we daily thank God for how he created you perfectly for us. We love your big blue eyes, your six little white teeth, your 10 fingers & 10 toes, the way you squeal when your daddy or I walk into the room, and the way you gently pet Summer & throw the ball with her. Your smile sends fireworks across our hearts every single time we see it. I pray we never take any moment with you for granted. We daily pray that you grow to be a man after God’s own heart, that you bask in His glory, not your own & that you grow to love Jesus more than you love riding your trike.

 

 

 

 

 

O- Obey His Commandments

“Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Fahter, and I will love him and manifest myself to him”

– John 14:21

After we acknowledged the cornerstone of our mission, that we have been redeemed through Christ’s blood, we wanted the “O” to be a direct result of that truth. Obeying the Lord’s commandments comes after we have accepted the fact that our lives do not have meaning without the Cross. Now that we have our meaning it changes our actions, words and even thoughts while on Earth.

Joyful obedience is a difficult thing most times. The World, our Flesh and the Devil are all three simultaneously trying to attack the Lord’s authority by saying things like “surely He didn’t say you cannot eat from the Tree..” – Genesis 3 and “to you I will give all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will” – Luke 4:6-

Something we hear today is “If God really loved me, then he would want me to be happy and do what feels right”.. this is the Enemy trying to soften the commands that God gives us throughout the Bible by making them seem old/outdated/prude/boring/lame/etc.

However God’s way never steals joy from our lives. By following the commandments of the Bible it allows us to be examples to non-believers of what our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is like. It keeps our minds clear to receive his Truth from His Word and disciplines us to grow in that Truth.

As we raise our children we want to be focused on encouraging Obedience. Our goal is to not simply have well-behaved children, but to encourage a lifestyle for each of them that will help them prosper.

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers.; but his delight is in the law of the Lord and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in season and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, HE PROSPERS.
